I imagine most veterans have this figured out, but I am still learning. Hoping to learn a little more here.
I would like to try taking on arena battles that have a higher power ranking than my own heroes, but so far I have been very unsuccessful (not just plain unsuccessful *grin*), so I know I am doing something wrong. Part of my problem is that I don't have many heroes beyond the original 5 skilled up to be worth mentioning; so far, in addition to the starter group, I have grump, medusa, cyclops, pixie, trinity, pei, and somewhat lazarus. I have other heroes, but they need a bit of attention before they can play in the arena.
In general, how do you take on stronger opponents? Sky arena is not a big deal (kind of), but with the "regular" arena having autoplay turned on, it makes it very hard for me to figure out a good strategy. The kicker is that a number of skills are 100% against heroes of equal or LOWER rank, which makes them inconsistent when aiming for higher-skilled players.
I also find that lose often to players with lower-ranked heroes, but they win because they are specialized (zorak, alex, drakon, farand, etc).
What say you?

Try to battle people only slightly higher level than you, as you said, the skills will be an issue otherwise. I don't have much advice for this since everyone on my server has been lvl 80 for almost a year.
