Every character is unique and offers fantastic qualitys to certain situations
My go to sky group is Alex, Medusa, Cyclops, Pei and Helena
If the opponent has a Drac, Pag and Pixie on their front line, it could break my perfect formation, so I might use an offence breaking team like
Alex, Grump, Triston, Helena and Trinity
After their main attackers are dead and my group is sitting in good health, I switch back to my foot group to mop up.
Lots of people have very different ideas about what makes a great group
You may find it very useful to work on CC characters first. CC means crowed control. These are characters that can incompasitate opponents which cripples their chances.
Centar is amazing at stunning Pixie is amazing at Stunning Trinity can prevent them from using ults and blind them Medusa is my go to CC for sky, she's pretty much useless in arena but fantastic in sky. Zorak can prevent healers from healing Grumps taunt prevents them from using ults The list goes on, but I'm sure you will find those guys make for better groups if placed in one.

I find that I like having two teams for sky arena. Ranged team, for those maps which have annoying choke points (pick your favorite 4 ranged plus grump to handle the one or two that get to your ranged): - Pei (3 stars) purple - Merlin (2 stars) purple - Grump (2 stars) purple - Helena (3 stars) purple - Cyclops (2 stars) purple
Go Get 'Em team, for those maps with wide open paths: - Dracula (3 stars) purple - Pixie ( 2 stars) purple - Zona (2 stars) purple - Perseus ( 2 stars) yellow 2 *Maybe add Trinity for healing/cc instead of perseus - Centaur (2 stars) purple
My personal favorite team includes Ives and Helena (plus any other three). Burn down the whole map except Helena, plant Ives 2-5 squares away from opponent Helena, then defend until your whole team is healed by your Helena. Takes a while, sometimes I lose to Helena, and save the progress and go again. I notice you don't have Ives though...

Grump not needed on SA, instead of him is better to use a Centaurus (stuns plus better damage on rounds 1,4,7 plus better mobility)
atk team on SA: Pixie (you MUST HAVE her in all SA-teams, she have high dodge versus rangers + CC with sleep and stone + high mobility) Helena (main heal) Aqua (anti-Zorak + heal) Pei (his ult rules + self-heal) or Zorak (high damage and dodge, invisibility in two rounds) Centaurus (his stuns is awessome) or Dracula (self-heal + high damage + high mobility)
that is all you need on SA
versus tough enemies im using Pixie, Helena, Aqua, Pei, Centaurus versus normal enemies im using Pixie, Helena, Aqua, Dracula, Zorak - with that team level passes more quickly, its more damaging team

If you are going for a crowd control strategy, pixie, centaur, grump or trinity would be good. My formation for sky arena is veeeery often helena, pei, cyclops, grump and ives. He is so good in sky arena because he can heal hinself when defend, is very good ability and also can trap enemies on the field so your range units can pretty much own every flyng hero that goes over you. And also im working on aqua, two healer in a team may be very apelative but may works, and if dont work, you can use separately in two teams. Very long text but hope you find it useful. Also, dont upgrade your strtker or gable anymore, at least not for now. focus on better ones

I forget to say, just because everyone uses the same heroes, pixie, dracula, zorak, centaur and say they are the best and etc, they are NOT a must have, i choose not to work with any of these and i clear sky arena every single day. The only exception is when i face guys lvl70. Im lvl 60 at the moment. But is your choice choose the ones you like the most.

But, this works better on hyperia, she heal a certain amount in the end of every round and you got two options, stay out of range of helena and defend untill your helena do the job of healing everyone and getting specials, or stay right next to oponent helena and suck his energy, but if your hyperia is not strong enough she may die

My clear time is almost always something like 45 min, rarely goes by 1hour, and the 2x and 4x helps me lower my time, thats not a problem for me

I'd say Pixie and Centaur are essential in sky. With Pixie alone, you can often play 5 vs 4 or 5 vs 3 because of her skills. Nice dodge too. Play Centaur right and you're stunning someone in rounds 1, 2 and 4.
In Sky it's also handy to have a strong hero who can kill someone in one shot. Pei's powerthrow and Cy's fleshbomb comes to mind.
Against a strong Zorak, I sacrifice a weak, undeveloped hero. Mine is Frosty. The Sky AI Zorak attacks Frosty first, and kills him on the second round. Much better than having Zorak attack, e.g. Helen or Merlin.
Against a strong Drac, I use Centaur to stun him round 1. I also load my team up with undead folks like Hyperia and Aries so that Drac doesn't regenerate.
With this strategy, I beat 9 or 10 castles every day.
