Has anyone done research on whether or not it's more efficient (as far as energy spent to obtain through questing) to buy soul stones at the sky and arena shops or to save up for buying equipment?

From my personal experience, 3 lengendary tries gives you 1 hero soul stone. Although sometimes you get the stone at 1st/2nd try, in rare cases you get no stone after 3 tries, let's assume farming 1 soul stone = 36 energy. In sky/arena/guild shop, 500 tokens = 5 soul stones = 180 energy. For equipments, I have farmed 20 shard purple equipments to promote hero to purple level, I agree with what someone said that 20 shard purple equipment requires about 400 energy to farm. So 20 shard purple equipment = 400 energy = 1600 tokens in shop, the energy efficiency is low. For more advanced purple equipments, I have no experience farming them, assuming a 50 shard purple equipment = 1000 energy = 3000 tokens in shop, this is about the same effiency for energy as buying soul stone.
Maybe buying more expensive purple equipments is more energy efficient than buying soul stones, but you could farm as many equipment shards as you want every day, and you could only farm a few soul stones of a certain hero every day. The main benefit of buying soul stones is to save time, every 500 tokens could save you 5 days of time if the soul stone is only available in 1 place, even if the soul stone is available in 3 places, 500 tokens still saves you 2 days of time. Saving up tokens to buy purple equipments does not have the same effect of saving time.
So just buy hero soul stones in token shops.
(On the other end, in gem shops, 40 gem = 1 soul stone, 112 gem = 20 shard purple, 240 gem (can't remember the exact number) = 50 shard purple, and the cheapest energy you could buy is 50 gem = 120 energy. It is better to buy purple equipments in gem shops.)
